Weston Injury Prevention (WIP)

Weston Emergency Medical Services has developed an ongoing education and training program for injury prevention in and around the home.

Called WIP, the program will focus on home safety as well as accident and injury prevention.  The goal of the program is to educate families on how to make their home injury proof, as well as what to do in case an injury does occur.  In homes with children, the WIP program encourages the kids to become Safety Captains and assist their parents in making their home a safe place.

We strongly encourage groups such as the Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts to participate in the WIP program. We will provide all the information and materials necessary and will tailor the program to meet your organizations needs.

For further information call 222-2600 and leave a message.  You will be contacted promptly.

HeartSmart

Weston EMS has addressed the many facets of cardiac health with a comprehensive program called HeartSmart.  Our continuing focus on training groups and individuals within the Weston community to deal with cardiac events improves the health and welfare of our town and surrounding area. Weston Kiwanis has partnered with Weston EMS to provided funds for the purchase of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) for our first responders.

CPR training is provided to groups such as the Girl Scouts, the high school student population, community service organizations, coaches of sports programs, and other citizens on a periodic basis or upon request.  Skill levels range from "Family and Friends" basic training to national certification programs.  General information regarding cardiac health is also disseminated.

Weston EMS volunteers include state certified instructors who conduct all CPR training sessions, and are a reflection of our commitment to professional standards and practices, delivered by neighbors for the benefit of neighbors.

For more information or to arrange a Heartsmart program, contact Nisan Eventoff at 222-2600.
